LG化学计划在韩国新建大型聚烯烃弹性体工厂

　　据悉，韩国领先的化工生产商LG化学公司周一表示，公司计划投资4000亿韩元（3.514亿美元）在韩国新建一座弹性体工厂以满足日益增长的需求。这座选址位于大山的新工厂设计年产20万吨的Lucene品牌的热塑性聚烯烃弹性体，预计2018年投产，届时LG化学的这种弹性体产量扩大至29万吨/年。这种乙烯-1-辛烯共聚物将利用LG化学的茂金属聚合催化剂和溶液法技术。

　　这种弹性体产品将与陶氏化学和埃克森美孚生产的相同产品进行竞争，主要用于制造密封、粘合剂、缓冲器和模塑柔性部件。

LG Chem to build large polyolefin elastomers plant in South Korea

LG Chem Ltd., a leading chemicals player in South Korea, said Monday it plans to invest 400 billion South Korean won ($351.4 million) in a new elastomers plant in South Korea to meet growing demand. The new plant at Daesan will have the capacity to produce 200,000 metric tons per year of LG Chem’s Lucene thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer, which will raise its total output of the elastomer to 290,000 tons by 2018. The product, ethylene-1-octene copolymer, uses LG Chem’s metallocene polymerization catalyst and solution process technology.

The elastomers, which compete with similar products made by Dow Chemical Co. and ExxonMobil Chemical Corp., are used to make seals, adhesives, shock absorbers, and molded flexible parts.
