Russian gas flows to Europe dip in September on Ukraine reverse flow
Russian gas supplies to Europe dipped in September, with exports dropping back to total 10.52 Bcm, an analysis of data from S&P Global Platts Analytics showed Oct. 5.
Russian exports to Europe via the four main corridors -- Nord Stream, Yamal-Europe, Ukraine and TurkStream -- were down by 5.7% compared with August.
The main reason for the fall was the continued use of virtual reverse flow at the Velke Kapusany interconnection point between Ukraine and Slovakia, which capped the volume of Russian gas entering Europe.
Flows via Velke Kapusany into Europe were limited by virtual reverse flow, averaging just 57 million cu m/d in September.
